Can I go on holiday to Morzine this summer?
Yes! Morzine, and France as a whole, is well and truly open for holidays this summer.
At the moment if you come from the UK, you’ll have to quarantine for 14 days when you return home – BUT – there’s positive signs this will be lifted in time for summer as Britain’s lockdown restrictions ease off. A review is expected before the end of June, which we expect to be positive and allow for a “travel corridor” between the two countries without the need to quarantine.
In Morzine, as you’d expect, all protocols are readily in place for everyone’s safety – that’s within our own Simply Morzine accommodation, the village itself and the summer activity providers.

After everything we’ve all been through with the COVID-19 pandemic, what could be better than a summer holiday in the Alps – now it’s safe to do so?

How can I travel to Morzine for my summer holiday this year? A. Drive or fly!
At the time of writing we’re still waiting for news about the government’s proposed ‘travel corridors’ that’ll allow you to be exempt from quarantine rules upon returning to the UK.
We’re confident they’ll be in place ready for your summer holiday from some point in July and throughout August into September.
Once you have the green-light that the current 14-day quarantine has been lifted, you’ll be able to drive to Morzine without fuss as the French Alps are easily accessible by car from the UK.
Morzine is less than 9 hours from Calais and it’s always nice to stay overnight on the way down to break up the journey with children. Morzine will be ready and waiting for you!
If you’d rather fly, then like the travel corridor, we’re waiting on news about ‘air-bridges’. An air bridge would allow flights between the UK to low-risk countries such as France and Switzerland (fly to Geneva, just inside the Swiss border) without having to quarantine for 14 days either side.
Although neither the travel corridors or air bridges are government policy just yet (and public health must come first) we’re positive they’ll happen in time for the peak July and August summer holiday season in Morzine – meaning you won’t have to quarantine when you get home, or in France.
