Activities - water
Swim, splash, paddle, dive! Whatever family-fun there is to be had on (or in) the water of the French Alps, you’ll be sure to find it here in Morzine! There’s a whole load of refreshing water-based alpine activities on offer over the summer holidays - for families of all ages and abilities.
Energise yourself in the beautifully clear waters of Morzine’s mountain lakes and rivers. The lakes of the Haute-Savoie Alps provide the perfect, picturesque setting for swimming, paddleboarding and canoeing. If being in the water is not your thing, relax and sunbathe on the shores of Lake Montriond, the Les Gets lake or, a little further afield, Lake Geneva - our very own alpine seasides (without the annoying sand!) Meanwhile, the River Dranse that flows from Morzine into the French side of Lake Geneva allows adrenaline seekers to crash through the rapids on an action-packed white-water sport. Fantastic for all the family – not just the water babies amongst you!
Take advantage of the excellent local swimming pool facilities on offer, which are amongst the best in France. Morzine and nearby Evian boast magnificent outdoor Olympic swimming pools, complete with separate children’s pools, lush gardens and flume - not forgetting the 3 indoor pools at the Morzine swimming complex. Meanwhile, high up in Avoriaz, is the ‘Aquariaz‘ water park. The climbing wall, lazy river and thrilling ‘half-pipe’ are always winners with the children!
